GILC Academy

At Global Insurance Law Connect, we are dedicated to fostering the professional growth of insurance lawyers.The GILC Academy is a unique initiative designed to recognise and reward exceptional talent within our member firms.

The core mission of the GILC Academy is to provide lawyers with the opportunity to experience diverse legal systems, cultures and business practices, enriching their understanding of global insurance law.

The Award

• A one week ‘look and learn’ experience at a GILC member firm destination, including travel, accommodation, subsistence, conference costs and any other program activity expenses.
• A curated program within a GILC Member city including client visits, tours, conference attendance, social and networking opportunities.
• Up to six scholarships will be awarded across the combined Americas, EMEA, and Asia Pacific regions every 12 months.

Eligibility

• Applications are open to permanently employed lawyers with 2–7 years of experience, currently working in insurance law at a GILC member firm.

• Build professional networks and share the journey with the GILC network.

GILC Academy 2026

We are pleased to confirm that the second GILC Academy will take place in London from 17–22 May 2026,

• Applications for the 2026 Academy opened on Monday 8 December.
• The application deadline is Friday 23 January.
• Winners will be announced on Tuesday 24 February.
