Global insurance network appoints new Chairman

1 April, 2018 – Global Insurance Law Connect announced today that Jim Sherwood has been appointed Chair of the network’s Board of Directors. He takes over the role from Mike Brown, partner at BLM. The network now has member firms covering fourteen countries and four continents, GILC looks to serve its clients’ global needs by offering an extensive network of local lawyers with detailed insurance expertise.

Jim Sherwood, Chair of Global Insurance Law Connect, said: “The network is growing fast demonstrating the strength of the offering both to member firms and clients. By focussing on building the broadest network, backed by stringent due diligence and rigorous quality control, re/insurers, brokers and policyholders know they can access the right advisers in the right places in the right way.

“As well as increasing the reach we can offer with new member firms, we are also widening our Special Interest groups so that we have the ability to offer a wide range of deep expert knowledge in specific lines of business. This illustrates clearly how we can harness the power of our connectivity to help reduce the time and money spent on managing those risks”.

Jim has been a partner at BLM for 20 years and leads the product liability and recall team. He has handled international disputes for clients throughout his time at BLM and was a key member of the team which created the network.
